Wstęp do konspektu lekcji integrujący język angielski z literaturą
Rynek księgarski oferuje olbrzymią ilość dzieł najwybitniejszych pisarzy angielskich i amerykańskich w oryginale i w wersji uproszczonej. Na każdym poziomie nauki (od elementary po advance) można znaleźć coś dla siebie w wersji uproszczonej i choć trochę zbliżyć się do "prawdziwej, wysokiej" sztuki.
Jeśli uczniowie przeczytają odpowiednio dobraną książkę, na odpowiednim poziomie językowym ( nie za łatwym i nie za trudnym), to bardzo ich to dowartościowuje. Daje im namacalne uczucie sukcesu i mobilizuje do dalszej nauki i tym samym powoduje sięgnięcie po coraz trudniejsze wydania książek, a może w końcu po oryginalne dzieła przeczytanych w wersji uproszczonej autorów.
Często wydania te zawierają wiele ćwiczeń utrwalających i rozszerzających słownictwo i gramatykę. Pomagają więc uczniowi w zrozumieniu ich treści, a nauczycielowi w opracowaniu i omówieniu książki.
Myślę, że zachęcenie uczniów do czytania tego typu wydań jest bardzo rozwijającym bodźcem językowym jak i poszerzającym wiedzę uczniów o literaturze i historii kraju uczonego języka.
Takim niewątpliwie utworem jest " Przeminęło z wiatrem" Margaret Mitchell, której zaadaptowaną na potrzeby uczniów wersję A. I L. Gołębiowskich postanowiłam omówić wraz z uczniami.
Uczniowie mieli trzy miesiące na przeczytanie powieści i przygotowanie informacji o Margaret Mitchell i Wojnie Secesyjnej. Osoby chętne przygotowały bardzo krótkie notatki o autorce i tle historycznym powieści dla całej klasy.

American Civil War: The war of 1861-1865 between the northern states (the Union) and southern states ( the Confederacy). Among the many causes of this war was disagreement over slavery. The election of Abraham Lincoln as President was the direct cause of the war. It was followed by the secession of the southern states from the Union and the founding of the Confederacy.
